Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave
The year is 1454, and the Dagdan Empire lies on the brink of ruin following the return of Balor, a resurrected demon god. In an effort to avert disaster, a soul descends from the heavens at the behest of the goddess Sothis.
Faced with the monumental task of fighting Balor alone, Fortuna - a goddess blessed with the ability to travel through time - offers this soul an alternative: help heroes from the past change their fate and lead them to the future for the final battle.
Which path will you walk to save the world?
Facts & Features:
-
Let the Heroic Games begin!
- The year is 1449, and the Dagdan Empire is a prosperous land under the rule of the gods. In its capital city, Dagsion, the Heroic Games are held in tribute to Dagda the Great, the empire's founding ruler. It's said that the winner of the games will be granted one wish.
- Many powerful fighters from across the land gather for the games. Among those participating, four seemingly-unconnected contenders sign up in hope for victory, each carrying a wish of their own:
- Cai, a young boy determined to win the games to save his imprisoned father.
- Dietrich, a swordsman ever on the hunt for a stronger foe.
- Theodora, a queen seeking to fulfil a long-held dream of her homeland.
- Leda, a musician with her sights set on revenge.
- Although you can only guide one hero at a time, it's possible to play multiple hero stories in parallel. At any time between matches, visit the Pale Raven's perch in the city and swap to a different storyline, advancing towards the final battle as you see fit.
-
On the offensive
- Matches in the Heroic Games, as well as other battles, play out through turn-based combat. First, choose your units and their position on the battlefield. Then, when the battle begins, move your units into place and attack the opposition.
- Success in combat depends on the classes of your units and weapons they wield, as well as the terrain and your positioning. Build a winning strategy using close-range strikes, counterattacks, and long-range weapons and magic, as well as powerful attacks known as Combat Arts.
- The four main heroes can use also special powers called Blaze Arts at the cost of their health points. From a burst of otherworldly flames to the art of teleportation and more, employ these unique moves to turn the tide in battle.
- Prepare for battle - Between matches, you'll have time to get ready for what's to come. From researching your next opponent to improving your team's prowess in battle, how you spend that time is up to you.
-
Train, learn, grow
- At the Arena Plaza, training is available once per week in the time between matches. As your skills improve, you'll learn new moves and be able to wield stronger weapons. Plus, on match days, you can watch other battles unfold to research your opponents.
- Elsewhere, shop for new equipment and items at the Shopping Arcade, volunteer at one of the many temples in Temple Row to earn a beneficial blessing, or enhance the classes of your units by taking certification exams.
-
A real people person
- Recruit powerful allies you meet in the city to bolster your strength on the battlefield. Some may accept your offer immediately, while others will need more convincing - try giving them gifts or inviting them to share a meal to win them over.
- By talking to townsfolk, you'll also receive requests for help. A wide range of objectives await, with rewards for those you complete within the given deadline.
-
Beyond Dagsion's walls
- Between matches, you can even venture outside the city and explore the wider continent of Dagda. Purchase local wares from towns, gather useful information for your adventure and travel with your allies to improve everyone's abilities in battle.
- You'll also find dungeons where you can collect materials for strengthening weapons, along with other treasures. Battles that happen in dungeons play out differently than in matches, with allies teaming up to perform attacks and defeat the opposition.
- Strategise with mouse controls - For the first time in the Fire Emblem series, you can play with mouse controls using Joy-Con 2 controllers. Intuitively move units across the battlefield, quickly access helpful information, and more, changing seamlessly between button and mouse controls whenever you like.
