The war scenario of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 It is set in the future (2025), in a world ravaged by a hyper-technological war where, alongside the classic military, there are drones and robots of all kinds. There will also be flashbacks to the 80s and missions that will influence the progress of the campaign, changing history.

The scenario is that of a second Cold War underway between China and the United States due to the scarcity of rare earths, used to make technological devices and military weapons.

One very interesting and disruptive aspect is that Black Ops 2 abandons the linear story and introduces the element of choice. This means that at certain points in the game you will have the opportunity to embark on single missions that will vaguely recall those of RTS, in which you will command soldiers and drones. You will be able to switch to the point of view of one of the soldiers in your team, but also use a drone for a bird's eye view and choose the most suitable strategy to win the game. What you do and what happens at that point will have an impact on the story of the campaign you are playing.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 will also have the now well-known Zombie mode, even more evolved, with more zombies and options, also playable in co-op. Of course, there will be multiplayer, revised and improved, and that unlike the main story will not allow jumps to the 80s, but will be entirely set in 2025.
