The discord between the inhabitants of Earth and the emigrants on the space colonies has not yet been healed and smoulders like embers under the ashes.

The opposing current is represented by the AEUG, a paramilitary organization that supports the demands of the colonies. The great strategist Char Aznable, who in the past pulled the strings of the One Year War and who now moves under the false guise of Captain Quattro Bajeena, also militates in the ranks of the AEUG.
