Lords of the Fallen PS4 (RESTART)

Demon's Souls and its successors, the Dark Souls games, certainly left their mark on gaming. Many will see similarities in Lords of the Fallen, both in its grim aesthetic and, more importantly, its rock-hard gameplay. Which is not to say Lords of the Fallen it wasn't built into its own game.

Lords of the Fallen rewards methodical, slow progress. Not to the point where the game will hit a dead end of indecision - something many suffer with anime games - and this is the first of what some will see as some silver linings that Lotf has of Dark Souls. Another plus is the easy accessibility. The controls are smooth and make complete sense. Once you have them memorized, adventuring in the dark world becomes a simple matter of framing your enemy, allowing them to show you their weaknesses and then exploiting them.

For the loot enthusiast this game tickles the itch wonderfully. There are hidden chests everywhere and plenty of armor slots to suit up in. The lead armor Harkyn wears is large and bulky, even when classified as 'Light' it's still larger than you'll find in most RPGs. This is partly due to the size of the guy you're playing as - he's tall, broad and thick-limbed, designed from the ground up as a warrior meant to wield unfeasibly large weapons.
