These virtual items available to players can be unlocked content, such as costumes, weapons or treasures. The ability to share this content adds a new interactive dimension to portable gaming, reinforcing the concept of networking and social connectivity in the PS Vita community.

Another pre-installed application on PS Vita is "Party", an innovative application that allows voice or text chat both during online gameplay and between users who are playing different games or while using other applications, such as while surfing the Internet.

With "Party" and "Nearby", the user has a new form of social networking at his fingertips and an application that allows him to share game information anywhere and anytime, and will finally be able to cross the boundaries of interactive communication like never before.
