The Sega Mega Drive II is a 16-bit video game console from Japanese manufacturer Sega and a revision of the first Mega Drive console.
The American counterpart is the SEGA Genesis II.

Primary CPU: Motorola 68000 16-bit 7.67 MHz (NTSC), 7.60 MHz (PAL) processor Processors came from Motorola and Hitachi, initially also from Signetics Secondary CPU: Zilog Z80a with 3.58 MHz (NTSC), 3.55 MHz (PAL)
Due to limited communication with other components, the Z80 is used almost exclusively as a sound processor. In the Mega Drive 2 it was installed as a "custom chip".
