CHARACTER NEWS
Beatrix Kiddo, also known as The Bride , is the fictional character who stars in the film series Kill Bill directed by Quentin Tarantino . She is played by Uma Thurman .At the age of about twenty, Beatrix joins the team of killers known as the " Deadly Viper Assassination Squad " (DVAS), led by Bill Gunn . In the DVAS she takes the code name of " Black Mamba ". During her militancy in the DVAS, she becomes Bill's girlfriend. Bill himself entrusts Beatrix to a legendary mandarin martial arts master, Pai Mei , inventor of a lethal move known as the "Five Fingers Heart Explosion Technique", which can kill anyone in a matter of seconds. Beatrix spends a long time with Pai Mei, becoming an expert in martial arts. Back in the DVAS, Beatrix resumes her relationship with Bill. During a mission to Los Angeles , makes a pregnancy test which turns out to be positive. At the same time she is attacked by a killer (Karen Kim) hired to kill her, who gives up her mission when Beatrix reveals her condition. For the sake of the child, Beatrix decides to make everyone believe that Karen Kim killed her, and moves to El Paso , in Texas , assuming the false name of Arlene Machiavelli. She begins working in a record store, where she meets a nice guy (Tommy Plympton) who she decides to marry. Meanwhile, Bill mourns Beatrix's supposed death for months, before he manages to track her down by chance. Having learned that she is pregnant and about to get married, Bill shows up at the church during a wedding rehearsal. After a seemingly peaceful meeting between Bill and Beatrix, in which Bill seems to reassure her of his intentions, the entire DVAS storms the church and massacres everyone present. Bill himself shoots Beatrix in the head. The massacre is called "Massacre at Two Pines" . When the police arrive at the scene of the massacre, it is discovered that Beatrix has miraculously survived, albeit in a vegetative state. Beatrix's coma lasts four years. Upon waking up, believing she has lost her child, Beatrix plans her revenge, deciding to kill all the members of the DVAS (who in the meantime have disbanded the team and gone their separate ways). Before starting her revenge, Beatrix goes to Okinawa from Hattori Hanzō , a master swordsmith. Hanzō, informed of Beatrix's mission, decides to support her, and, in addition to forging her a sword, agrees to train her personally.
