When playing alone, you can hold one controller in each hand, using the Joy-Con grip, while for two-player games, each player can use one controller. For larger groups, you can also use multiple Joy-Con controllers. The controllers can be easily reattached to the console or Joy-Con grip.

Characteristics:

• Each Joy-Con has a full set of buttons, so it can be thought of as a standalone controller.
• Each Joy-Con includes an accelerometer and a motion sensor.
• The left Joy-Con features a Capture Button that players can press to capture in-game screenshots to share with friends on social networks.
• The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint that allows interaction with amiibo, as well as an IR Motion Camera that can detect the distance, shape and movement of nearby objects in specially created games. This allows the controller to measure how far away a player's hand is, for example.
• Both Joy-Con include an advanced HD rumble function, which can produce much more realistic vibrations than previously possible in compatible games.
