The details of the championship are all meticulously reproduced, right down to the possibility of using smooth tyres and integrating KERS (i.e. the kinetic energy recovery system). If it is true that F1 2009 offers all the challenges that an experienced driver can expect, beginners should not be discouraged, as there are plenty of auxiliary tools to guide their progress on the circuits. As practice increases, it will be possible to deactivate them until you get closer and closer to the real experience, as far as the comfort of your home allows.

F1 2009 boasts a myriad of options for racing alone or in multiplayer mode. Hone your racing skills in single-player mode by selecting a simple speed race, or experience the excitement of a Grand Prix weekend, complete with practice sessions and qualifying. Multiplayer can be competitive, to see who is the fastest in a split-screen race, or cooperative, where you will join forces to win the championship on behalf of your team over the course of the season. Finally, the Fair Race mode takes into account the different skills of each player to give both players a chance to win.
