In The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask the player will have to travel in a cursed land, wearing different masks.

As Link, the player must save the land of Termina in just three days by preventing the Moon from falling, destroying everything and everyone in its path.

Riding through the woods on his trusty steed Epona, Link is ambushed by a strange masked boy known as Skull Kid and his two fairy companions. The three villains steal Link's Epona and the precious Ocarina of Time, and then curse him, transforming him into a Deku Bush. Following Skull Kid's trail, Link encounters a strange salesman with a penchant for strange and wondrous masks. This mask salesman has also been tricked by the evil woodland sprite into stealing a particularly dangerous mask—Majora's Mask. He offers Link a deal—if he can find Skull Kid and recover both the Ocarina of Time and the stolen mask within three days, he will free Link from the curse…

Time is of the essence in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. The player has only three days to save Termina before Doomsday and do a lot of things necessary to give a happy ending to this story.

Fortunately, by playing the Song of Time, you can return to the dawn of the first day at any time. If necessary, you can even slow down or speed up time - just know the right melodies and play them on the Ocarina of Time... During the three days and while completing quests, you can collect information and items, which can be transferred later at the beginning of the first day. Armed with new knowledge and tools, it becomes possible to solve puzzles and problems, and thus progress in the adventure.

As in other titles in the series, the player must complete various secondary missions to please the various characters encountered in the adventure, such as helping the ambitious Deku to promote their careers, reuniting a couple of fiancés, or freeing unfortunate citizens from curses. Missions can also have different outcomes depending on how they are completed.

The game world is also dotted with various dungeons, all full of puzzles, traps and paths. In these temples of mystery are kept the powers needed to block Skull Kid, but it will not be easy to find them. The player will have to use his brain to solve logic and memory puzzles, unsheathe his sword and test himself against many ferocious enemies. And as tradition in the series, at the end of each dungeon a dangerous boss awaits...

During the journey the player can collect different masks - some are just decorative, others grant special abilities that are not usually available. Masks can be used to talk to animals, move quickly like a rabbit or even take on the appearance of completely different species.

As per tradition, Link, during his adventure, will find various objects that will help him defeat certain monsters more easily, solve puzzles and discover new areas otherwise inaccessible. Among the objects that are part of Link's arsenal in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask we find the ocarina of time, hero's bow, bombs, harpoon, lens of truth and many others.
