World Super Police (USED) - PS2 (RESTART)
World Super Police is a single-player police chase game.
The gameplay is virtually identical to games like Outrun, a series of games that originated on the DOS and Amiga platforms in the mid-1980s.
The game's premise is that standard police cars can't catch criminals in high-speed vehicles, so to combat the growing car crime, the World Super Police (WSP) was created. The game is divided into two storylines, one focusing on the Blue Wings (WSP Japan) and the other on the Red Hawks (WSP USA). Each storyline has its own story, but the missions are essentially the same: the player's car is firmly in the center of the screen, at the bottom, and the landscape scrolls by quickly. On the left of the screen is a vertical bar that offers a "radar" view of the road ahead.
The objective is to keep the car on the road, travel as fast as possible while avoiding traffic, and eliminate the bad guy with whatever weapon the player has equipped. This involves racing for about a minute until the target appears on the radar, at which point the criminal must be stopped before he reaches the border. Some missions are solo and unarmed, while in others the player is accompanied by other WSPs in supercars and can alternate between offensive and defensive formations.
The game's main menu also features a "Training" option, which, unusually, is disabled at the start of the game and only accessible after completing one or more missions in one of the two storylines. The menu also features a "Royal Scramble" option, which allows the player to replay old missions, which, of course, is only accessible after completing one or more missions.
