• The population has exploded, pollution has steadily worsened, and natural resources are running out. Unable to continue living on a planet as small as Earth, humanity pushes into space. The Moon and Mars are unable to support the entire population, so humanity pushes on to Jupiter. A torus-shaped space colony, called Antilia, is built at the L5 Lagrangian point of Jupiter and Europa to support mining operations. The furthest outpost of humanity in its sphere of existence, Antilia is home to approximately 100,000 residents engaged in mining and transportation activities. It also serves as a development outpost for BAHRAM, the military organization of the anti-Earth Martian state, Vascilia County.
  
  Antilia is humanity's most distant outpost, and is neither allied with nor against Earth. Since Nereidum Universal Technology (NUT) and BAHRAM lost their development outpost during the Deimos Incident, they see Antilia as a perfect opportunity to establish a research and development facility for Orbital Frames, humanoid weapons that outperform LEV mecha. Their two most advanced Orbital Frames, Jehuty and Anubis, conceal incredible offensive capabilities and one detail of even greater importance.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner

• Humanity expands into the depths of space in search of new lands. The terraformed Mars hosts colonies from various Earth countries, and humanity's push toward Jupiter continues. However, with new resources and new territory come new problems. Mars is made up of 16 counties, which are equivalent to the "states" that make up many Earth nations. The Martians and the colonists of the Jovian system are ruled by Earth with an iron fist. These people who live on the frontier of civilization are called "Enders." An unbridgeable rift forms between those bound by the chains of Earth's gravity and those who float freely in space, and over time hostility grows between rulers and ruled.
  
  During the exploration of space, man discovers a new mineral called Metatron. This mineral is notable not only for its use as an energy source, but also for a multitude of other purposes. However, the incredible energy it provides is also used for military projects, as the anti-Earth forces on Mars use it to secretly develop giant humanoid weapons known as Orbital Frames. Orbital Frames possess mobility superior to Earth's LEVs, similar humanoid weapons. Once unable to compete with Earth's numbers, the Martian anti-Earth forces finally have a weapon with which to fight.
