New defensive AI gives players better awareness of dangerous space on the pitch regarding the ball and their opponents. Your teammates track back to stop sophisticated attacking runs and close attacking angles.

New Fundamentals of Countering

All new tackling behaviors add a variety of options to help you get stuck in and get the ball. An all-new slide tackle system that allows the bridge to pop out of the tackle and back into position. There is now a great variety available in tackling options, such as False Tackle, Standing Air Tackle and Full Body Tackle. Tackles are rewarding and responsive in FIFA 16.

Interception Intelligence

Control the midfield with new interception logic, allowing you to anticipate opposition intentions and close down passing lanes to create a more thoughtful and realistic experience in the middle of the pitch. Interception intelligence, completely revamped in FIFA 16, can be adjusted in the player instructions, to control the aggressiveness of your players in trying to recover the ball. You have complete control over the construction of the maneuver in midfield.

Moving with purpose

FIFA 16 introduces a passing revolution. Now play hard, incisive passes so you can find teammates with precision. Utilizes a new button mechanic, guided ping ground passes to find teammates in tight spaces to open up attacking options. No Touch Dribbling

Lionel Messi has been captured in motion to create a new dribbling system that lets you decide not just how to touch the ball, but when. Now you can let the ball flow to buy yourself time, trick a defender with a feint, and leave your marker in place just like Messi does. Buy yourself time by using No Touch Dribbling to allow teammates to run in, control the pace of the game, unbalance a defender, and create moments of epic proportions. This system revolutionizes 1v1s and gives players far more attacking opportunities than ever before.

Dynamic Passage

Crossing in FIFA 16 changes the way both the crosser and their receiving teammate approach the ball. Crossers approach the ball with realistic and rewarding execution animations, while players in the box will be guided by the ball so they can execute it, using their movement to guide the strike. New cross targeting means your strikers will meet the ball on managed defenses and put themselves in difficult situations as they play balls further behind the goal line.

Finale Clinic gives players a new understanding of where to hit the ball so they can finish like a pro. Players will notice more guided shots and authentic trajectories. Dynamic speed and shot trajectories will make for exciting on-target efforts.
