The game plays very similarly (in terms of combat sequences and puzzles) to the previous installments in UbiSoft's Prince of Persia trilogy: The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. There are some important innovations such as the Dark Prince character, who occasionally possesses the main protagonist and offers him new combos and moves.
