Like some kind of Geonosian factory, LucasArts constantly churns out arcade racing games inspired by Star Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars is no exception. Catapulted to the rocky planet just mentioned, the player must face a series of events that lead to the rescue of Anakin, Obi-Wan and Amidala from the clutches of Count Dooku. The game then continues into unknown territories, leading you through the most important battles of the Clone Wars, which took place at the end of Episode II. Play as three great Jedi, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and lead the forces of the Republic to victory by piloting land vehicles and aircraft as well as moving on foot.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars gives you the opportunity to take the wheel of many vehicles familiar to Episode II fans, including the Republic Battleship, Assault Walkers, and Speeder Bikes. You'll also have to master unfamiliar ships, such as the mighty Fighter Tank or the Maru from the Wookiee world of Kashyyyk. Regardless of which vehicle you choose, you'll need all your Jedi expertise to take on the 30 Separatist war machines, including Spiders and Hailfire Droids. Utilize your ships' various weaponry and issue simple commands to your forces to overcome the enemies of the Republic.

An opportunity to teach Darth Tyranus (Dooku) a lesson after what he did to poor Anakin and give Darth Sidious a hard time is never something to be refused. If we also consider the possibility of piloting five high-tech military vehicles and the fact that you are not a simple clone but a Jedi (or rather three) with all the trimmings, Star Wars: The Clone Wars becomes more intriguing than the Dark Side. Add to that a two-player split-screen mode and more bonus options than you can shake a stick at, and you'll be at the Republic Army recruiting center before you can say, "Watch out, Jango, he's got a lightsaber."
