In Formula 1: Championship Edition, players choose from 13 Formula 1 teams, 17 different circuits and a variety of specific cars. To avoid crashes designed after filming a real crash, players must drive their car in and around the competition while maintaining high speeds. Players can choose from three different game modes, including "Training", "Single Race" and "Championship", then adjust options such as race length, skill settings, steering assist, braking and sessions. Players can also adjust their car's setup and choose to change the gears, tires, suspension, brakes, and front and rear down force. Two players can compete in split-screen multiplayer action.
