Athens 2004 offers the widest range of events ever seen in a multi-event sports game - Swimming, Athletics, Gymnastics, etc...

All of these competitions take place at one of seven venues - the Olympic Stadium for Athletics, the Markopoulo Olympic Shooting Centre, the Olympic Aquatic Centre, the Nikaia Olympic Weightlifting Hall, the Olympic Indoor Hall for Gymnastics, the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre and the historic Panathinaiko Stadium for Archery. They have all been recreated using photos and drawings of the actual architectural structures to ensure the most accurate reproduction possible.

The same goes for the athletes - advanced motion capture techniques were used to ensure that each of the game's 800 characters (including horses - motion-captured for the first time ever) moved with the complexity, flexibility and harmony of real athletes.
