Set one year after the events of the first Tenchu , Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven once again puts players in the shoes of the mysterious ninja Rikimaru and the lightning-fast fighter Ayame. Among the most interesting items available are bombs, poisoned rice, shuriken, explosive arrows and a host of inventions designed to wreak havoc on your opponents.

There are nine missions to play through, and like other games in the series, their objectives vary depending on the character you choose to play as. The order of levels, objectives, and enemy placements varies throughout Ayame and Rikimaru's adventures, so you can restart the game after completing it with one hero and play a different series of missions with the other character. You can also unlock a third secret character to play as after defeating enemies with the two main protagonists.

The life of a samurai can be very lonely, and it is normal to want a companion to accompany you on your travels every now and then. Fortunately in Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven There is a co-op mode, which means you can play with a friend thanks to the split-screen mode. The challenge modes are also really exciting, with you and your friends going head-to-head in a series of tests designed to establish who is the best ninja.
