Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a post-apocalyptic reimagining of the 400-year-old novel Journey to the West. The game is set 150 years in the future, in a world destroyed by war and ecological disaster, with only a select few survivors.

In In Enslaved Odyssey To The West , players take on the role of Monkey, a character with extraordinary strength but also an extreme loner, who is captured by a mysterious slaver ship that is rounding up survivors and taking them west on a journey of no return. Trip, a young woman with a knack for technology who has been imprisoned on the same ship, is planning an escape. She soon realizes that Monkey, with his brute strength, is her only hope for survival on the perilous journey home.

He modifies a subjugation device and makes Monkey wear it, thus creating a bond between them – if she dies, he dies… Her journey is now their journey and Monkey will have to accompany Trip through a devastated world, constantly risking being captured or worse, dying.
