It is the end of the 20th century. The entire world is shaken by atomic explosions. On the face of the earth, the oceans had disappeared, and the plains looked like desolate deserts. However, the human race had survived.

After a terrible nuclear holocaust, the Earth is in ruins. The survivors organize themselves into small communities and villages, trying to live with the few resources left available. Unfortunately, several gangs of marauders and unscrupulous bandits threaten and destroy everything they find in their path, to take possession of these resources or even just for fun. A mysterious martial arts master named Kenshiro, a man with seven scars on his chest, chosen as the sole successor of the Sacred School of Hokuto (Hokuto Shinken) has sworn to protect the weak and the innocent in these dark times where only the law of the strongest prevails.
