Newton's third law is put to the test in Black, a first-person shooter from the team behind the critically acclaimed Burnout series. Players take on the role of Jack Kelar, a member of an elite tactical squad, whose team is assigned to Eastern Europe to hunt down an American traitor. Instead of sneaking through environments to perform quick, covert attacks, Black sees players launch into a full-scale assault across nine levels of explosive action.

A total of 13 cutting-edge weapons are available to eliminate the enemy threat, but Black's most distinctive aspect is its physics engine: fully destructible environments allow players to shoot at inanimate targets as well as living ones. Instead of shooting at a patrol of soldiers, for example, players can shoot nearby vehicles or barrels to trigger explosions, shatter windows and balconies, and more. As Kelar traverses besieged cities, snow-covered wilderness, and other levels, bullet casings, glass, dust, and debris will fly across the screen, while plumes of smoke and raging fires dot the war-torn landscapes.
