Following the events of Bravely Default, Agnès Oblige is leading the Crystal Orthodoxy and the Duchy of Eternia into a new era of peace—when the evil Kaiser Oblivion kidnaps her! Her bodyguard Yew Geneolgia sets out to rescue her from the Kaiser’s Sky Fortress, an impregnable stronghold floating above Eternia. Along the way, Yew will need to team up with Magnolia Arch and other new characters, as well as returning heroes Edea Lee and Tiz Arrior, to survive treacherous dungeons and vanquish fearsome enemies.

Utilize two unique battle systems to change the course of battle and defeat enemies. With the "Brave and Default" system, characters can make multiple moves in a single turn, or choose to remain on the defensive to prepare their next moves. With the "Bravely Second" system, you can freeze time to unleash devastating special attacks or heal characters in the middle of battle.

Test your skills and courage with "Bring it on!". After winning a battle in a single turn, the most fearless warriors can immediately start another, even more difficult fight for a chance to earn greater rewards. Chaining battles is a quick way to level up characters and classes, but defeat means losing everything you've won - don't confuse courage with recklessness!

To win the toughest battles and most powerful enemies, you will need to make good use of the 30 available Classes, to equip your characters with the skills needed to survive. Through combat, characters will become experts in their profession and acquire new skills and abilities, opening up completely new tactical opportunities for players. For example, the new Pastry Chef weakens enemies with delicious desserts, while the Catmancer uses his deep knowledge of felines to increase the team's skills and find useful items. Experiment with the classes and skills to find the battle style that best suits you!

Don't just stick to one strategy - you can now save different combinations of classes, orders, skills, and equipment for your squad and easily switch between them. Once you've set your favorite combinations, you can also order your squad to fight automatically until you intervene. With this new, streamlined approach, forming a squad is easier than ever!

You can also connect with other players in a variety of ways using the unique communication features of the Nintendo 3DS system. Exchange profiles with other players via StreetPass, Local Play, and the Internet to rebuild your base on the moon, join forces to defeat a fearsome monster, and gain an advantage in battle with other players' skills!
