FIFA 11 features two world firsts: the new Be A Goalkeeper mode lets you think and act like a goalkeeper, and for the first time in a video game, you can play 11-on-11 online, with all 22 players controlled by you. That means you can act as a real team with friends, play your favorite position, or try a completely different one. FIFA 11 redefines player authenticity for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, on or off the ball, for every player and every position. The new Personality+ feature takes into account individual skill in addition to standard attributes, allowing each player to be clearly distinguished based on their physique and playing ability.

Personality+ identifies differences between individual players using a database that evaluates and adapts their abilities using 36 attributes and 57 traits. The EA SPORTS FIFA series leverages a network of 1,700 scouts, editors and other experts from around the world to individually evaluate each player. Personality+ will be evident throughout the game. Elite players can now showcase their world-class skills. Real Madrid’s Kaka will conjure up creative passes, Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta will bring the ball even closer as he dribbles through defensive lines, even in intense duels with the opponent. Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, on the other hand, will use his strength to hold off defenders and shoot at goal at full speed. Top defenders like Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini will anticipate the actions of opposing attackers and react accordingly to gain possession.

Players are represented even more realistically using new body types and player models. Goalkeepers also benefit from Personality+. A goalkeeper’s true personality determines their playing style and skills in the penalty area. Jumping power determines whether a goalkeeper can reach critical balls, while reflexes determine reaction time. This means a world-class goalkeeper like Chelsea’s Petr Cech will be able to show off his full range. Building on the award-winning gameplay that has earned FIFA 10 50 Sports Game of the Year awards, FIFA 11 introduces the new Pro Passing. The accuracy of the pass depends on the player’s skill with the controller, the player’s own skills, the situation and the pressure on the pitch. All in all, this makes for a hugely enriching Pass system.
