The name is Bond. James Bond. The famous hero from Ian Fleming's novels returns in this first-person shooter based on the film of the same name. Agent 007 and his friend Alec Trevalyan (aka Agent 006) were sent to the Soviet Union on a secret mission. But everything goes wrong, Bond narrowly escapes and his friend is presumed dead.

Ten years later, a mysterious organization called "Janus" emerged. The organization controls a new satellite called "GoldenEye" and attempts to electronically steal money from banks and erase all transaction receipts. It's up to our agent 007 to return to the Soviet Union and put an end to Janus' ambitions.

In this 3D action game, the player controls James Bond from a first-person perspective and uses a variety of weapons (from knuckles to grenade launchers) to eliminate his enemies. However, many parts require the player to be cautious, go unnoticed, or protect guards from afar as they will react to his presence and alert their companions. The game is divided into missions, and in most of them Bond has to perform other tasks besides killing his enemies: defusing bombs, photographing important evidence or avoiding killing scientists. The game features a multiplayer mode with a variety of options and three difficulty levels. A higher difficulty level means that in addition to tougher opponents, there are also additional objectives to complete,

The 4-player split-screen multiplayer is one of the best available for the Nintendo 64.
