The dramatic story follows Nariko, a brave red-haired heroine who embarks on a mission of revenge against a usurping ruler and his army.

The plot revolves around an ancient sword that once belonged to a powerful deity, but no mortal can wield it without draining their life force and killing them within hours. When the usurper king (played by Andy Serkis of The Lord of the Rings and King Kong fame) wipes out the clan of warriors protecting the sword, Nariko, daughter of the clan leader, takes the ancient weapon in a desperate bid to survive. However, Nariko will pay dearly for her actions and must exact revenge on the king and his army before the sword completely drains its life force…

The combat system features the most advanced physics technology in the game, allowing for epic level extermination of both enemies and environments. Progress through stunning environments with grace and style, fighting in the clouds, on water, among the canopies of trees and more.

Enemies employ complex team-based combat choreography and can attack singly, in groups of several dozen, or even in armies of thousands of men, allowing real-time AI to reach unprecedented levels of quality.
