The Nintendo Switch has two controllers, one on each side, that work together: the Joy-Con.

By inserting the two Joy-Con into the Joy-Con grip, you get a traditional controller. Without the grip, each Joy-Con is a separate controller.

By giving a Joy-Con to a friend, you can play multiplayer anywhere.
In addition to holding a single Joy-Con vertically or horizontally, you can also use both Joy-Con at the same time by holding one in each hand.

Connect the included straps and loop them around your wrists to enjoy the Joy-Con motion controls.
By holding the controllers horizontally you can also comfortably use the shoulder buttons.

Imagine the Joy-Con is a glass filled with ice cubes. With HD rumble, when you move and tilt the Joy-Con, you can feel the ice cubes moving.
Here's one, here's another... HD rumble is so realistic you can even tell how many cubes there are, as if you were actually holding the glass in your hand.
The Joy-Con's HD rumble function creates an immersive gaming experience that can't be replicated with graphics and sound alone.

• Use shape, movement and distance

The IR Motion Camera on the right Joy-Con can recognize the shape, distance, and motion of objects it captures.
For example, it can tell if a player's hands are shaped like rock, paper, or scissors, opening up new forms of interaction!
