Onimusha 3 (used guaranteed)
Samanosuke, the heroic samurai already seen in the previous ones Onimusha is back in a time-bending adventure, this time accompanied by the reluctant Jacques - a modern-day hero played by Hollywood star Jean Reno. Interestingly, the action takes place in 16th century Japan and contemporary France, with the odd couple fighting to save the world in both historical eras.
Introducing a novelty that will surely make fans of the series happy, Onimusha 3 abandons the old pre-rendered 2D backdrops in favor of a 3D setting. But some things never change, and in this third adventure the good guys will have to fight against Nobunaga - the evil warmonger who managed to escape from the previous epic encounter with Samanosuke.
Featuring the most graphically impressive intro sequence seen in recent years and a cast numbering in the thousands (of Samurai zombies, or 'genma'), Onimusha 3 It is an impressive and spectacular production that you cannot miss - whether you are a devoted fan of the series or you are now learning about it for the first time.
The time travel gets underway quickly when Nobunaga, cornered by Samanosuke and his army, slips into a (convenient) time passage and escapes to present-day France. The sword-wielding warrior pursues the Warlord and his legions to Paris, where the genma have already begun slicing up the locals.
Luckily, he’ll find the Gallic commander Jean Reno – or Jacques, as he calls himself here – to help him. Recreated with motion capture and bringing his signature style to bear on the events at hand, Reno is a fully playable character, equipped with an energy whip to crack across zombies.
After a short preamble and a quick training session to perfect the art of massacre, you will be transported between characters and historical periods, with Jacques busy whipping the genma in medieval Japan, and Samanosuke busy defeating Nobunaga's henchmen in Paris.
Further help is offered by Ako - a winged spirit who will aid the pair as they travel through time. And, as in previous titles, kills release 'soul spheres' which act as currency. They can be spent to upgrade weapons or restore health, as well as obtain items that can influence the course of future events.
The action is all mixed with puzzles to solve, never too difficult to slow down your run. You can mow down hordes of zombie samurai and perform devastating moves with the weapons wielded by the characters.
