The team at PES Productions have started from scratch and created a football title that is set to become the industry benchmark. It will also feature state-of-the-art graphics and in-game animations. PES 2014 will be able to perfectly recreate the moves, playing styles and on-field experience that characterise the world's greatest players.

PES 2014 will be based on six new features that will make it the pinnacle of football simulations and that will impact the way players receive and control the ball and the game physics, allowing to recreate all those emotions that are at the basis of the most beautiful sport in the world.

The six new features in PES 2014 will be:

• TrueBall Tech: PES 2014, for the first time in a football simulation, will put the ball at the centre of the gameplay, highlighting its movements and the different approaches with which the players control and strike it. TrueBall Tech will allow players to stop or slow down the ball's movement using the analogue stick and will be based on physics so detailed that it will precisely calculate the shift in weight of the player's centre of gravity, as well as the height and speed of the ball when the player's body receives it.

• Motion Animation Stability System (MASS): Physical contact on the pitch is an important part of every match and MASS technology is able to perfectly simulate contact between players, as well as any potential arguments, thanks to extremely fluid animations.
Instead of a predefined set of animations that repeat themselves over and over again in similar game circumstances, MASS creates different animations based on factors such as: the direction and intensity of a tackle, the physical strength and size of the players, who will even try to snatch the ball after a break to provoke the opponent or to buy time. PES 2014 now features more styles of tackles to offer an even more realistic gaming experience.

• Heart: Defining what makes the game of football so exciting is a difficult task, in fact, it is not only the technical component of this sport that excites fans, an extremely important role is also played by emotions. The support of the fans in the stadium, with their chants and an extraordinary crowd, can play a decisive role in the course of a match and can represent the “twelfth man on the pitch” of a team. PES 2014 will introduce this emotional effect on individual players and entire formations on the pitch.
Each player will engage their mental attributes, in addition to their stylistic abilities and skills, which can also have a negative psychological impact when things on the pitch don't go their way.

• PES ID: PES 2013 defined a new level of realism in football video games thanks to the introduction of Player ID technology. For the first time, footballers were immediately recognisable to the gamer also by the way they ran and their unique style of play. The way in which a player runs, moves and kicks the ball is identical to that of their real counterparts and PES 2013 included 50 different Player IDs for as many real players.
With PES 2014, the number of faithfully reproduced players will be doubled and the specific animations and on-field artificial intelligence characteristics of these athletes will also be included.

• Team Play: Thanks to the innovative “Combination Plan” function, gamers will be able to set up a wide variety of specific tactics to be used in certain areas of the pitch. These involve the participation of three or more players who will make movements without the ball to cover the uncovered areas of the pitch in defence or midfield. These moves can be programmed in advance, in certain areas of the pitch, to exploit the weak points of the opposing team.

• The Core: PES Productions has been listening to the opinions of PES and football fans for years to gain ideas that allow us to reproduce the key elements of this sport more faithfully. All this valuable feedback will materialize in further improvements to the gameplay compared to the previous episode.

From a graphical point of view, the video game will benefit from an extraordinary level of detail that can be seen in every component of PES 2014, from the reproduction of the texture of the fabrics of the game kits to the facial movements of the players and a new series of fluid animations and transitions.
The stadiums will be identical to their real-life counterparts in every detail, even down to the position of the players' entrance onto the pitch, and the crowd will move around the stands during the match.
