Data storage device for PlayStation with a capacity of 1Mbits of flash memory (128 Kilobytes) divided into 15 blocks; each block was therefore 64kbits. The Memory Card, code SCPH-1020 , is a fundamental accessory for saving game progress.

It has been released over the years in many color variations. The first was released in Japan, at the same time as the console's launch and in the same color, on December 3, 1994

These memory cards are in EEPROM format and reach a writing speed of 10 Kb/sec allowing an average of 15000 writing cycles. With the spread of the console they became available in various colors: grey, black, island blue, cherry red, crystal, emerald, orange, white, yellow.
