Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems feature an alternate story set in the same world as Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. It also includes new Pokémon not seen in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, as well as new features that make the adventure even more immersive.

Dark, ominous clouds gather in the skies above Alola, the region featured in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. In these adventures, an epic story unfolds involving the three Legendary Pokémon: Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma. The veil that shrouded the secrets of Necrozma and Alola in previous games is finally revealed.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, you can explore the different worlds that await you on the other side of the Ultra Derelict. Inside the Ultra Derelict, you'll find numerous Rifts that will lead you to a variety of different worlds. Try to discover as many as you can! You can even visit the home worlds of the mysterious Ultra Beasts!

Meet the Ultra Search Team
The Ultra Research Team is a mysterious group from a world beyond the Ultra Derelict. Why do you think they came to Alola? Players will experience the story from slightly different perspectives depending on which version they're playing. In Pokémon Ultra Sun, Dulse and Amamo (pictured left) play a central role, while in Pokémon Ultra Moon, Solaire and Cyonir will play a central role.

Discover more than 400 Pokémon
There are over 400 Pokémon to discover in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, many of which are not present in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. You will encounter only some of these Pokémon depending on which version you are playing. For example, Manectric appears in Pokémon Ultra Moon in the same tall grassy area where Houndoom appears in Pokémon Ultra Sun. You will also encounter new Ultra Beasts throughout your adventure in Alola!


Facts and Features:

  • New look: At the start of the game, the player can choose between two characters. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, these characters have been redesigned and now feature a new look.
  • Lycanroc (Dusk Form): In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Rockruff Pokémon can evolve into another form, in addition to its Midday and Midnight Forms: Dusk Form. It behaves like its Midday Form, but when it attacks, its eyes glow red, like its Midnight Form.
  • Z-Power Ring: Z-Moves are powerful attacks first introduced in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Now, players will receive a new Z-Power Ring in the game, allowing them to use an even wider variety of Z-Moves.
  • Hidden Secrets: Ominous clouds are gathering over the Alola region, and hidden secrets are being revealed.
