Putting the player in the role of the commander of an elite group of Navy SEALs, engaged in dangerous missions against faceless terrorists, SOCOM it proved to be a game of burning topicality and, above all, damn fun.

Now the SEALs are back, intent on cementing their reputation as the toughest and deadliest characters in gaming.

Lone heroes will find 12 missions to tackle, each with a wide range of objectives. In environments spanning exotic locations such as Algeria, Albania, Brazil and Russia, you will work alongside allied special forces, including the British SAS and Russian Spetsnaz, in an environment so tense that you will often have to change your objectives on the fly. New equipment and weapons, such as rocket-propelled grenades and machine gun turrets, will also help you out.

But the many SOCOM fans who primarily enjoy online play will not be disappointed. Maps are even more intelligently designed to encourage tactical team play and a wide range of strategies. New modes join the existing ones, such as "Escort" mode, where your SEALs will be tasked with leading a group of high-level personalities to safety, while "Breach" mode will have them invade and destroy a terrorist stronghold.
