There is a cutscene that plays just before the start of The Great Grey Wolf, the Sif boss battle,
and there are two variations to this movie depending on how the players progress in the
game. The idea for this statue is inspired by the alternate movie, which can be
unlocked by examining the contents of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC before
tackle Sif. The base design also helps recreate the footage, as it replicates
the mossy grounds of Darkroot Garden, which is where the events took place.
During the alternate cutscene, the player character falls onto his back as The Great
Gray Wolf, Sif slowly approaches them and Sif will remember their familiar scent. As the
player character reaches out to Sif, the saddened wolf will emit a
powerful howl just before picking up Artorias's greatsword pierced into the ground for
reluctantly confront the player character.
