If you were starting to fear that you would never get to experience a Simpsons-inspired video game that did the animated series justice, then you'll be happy to know that The Simpsons Hit and Run This is not your usual mediocre license, but an absolutely spectacular title.

Taking inspiration from the formula adopted by Rockstar and giving it a The Simpsons Hit and Run a Grand Theft Auto-style setup, Radical Entertainment has managed to create a Simpsons title that is fun to play, with solid gameplay mechanics and all the humor of the TV show. The basic structure is basically the same as GTA (drive to complete missions, collect items, "commandeer" cars) and, while not as bloody, it still has some healthy cartoon violence. As Homer, you'll have to control various vehicles to investigate the arrival in Springfield of some black trucks, mechanized bees and a strange soft drink.

Structured similarly to Grand Theft Auto, The Simpsons Hit and Run is a quest-based adventure game consisting of seven levels containing seven primary missions that are assigned to a series of characters (you can play as Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge... even Apu, the owner of the Kwik-E-Mart, is the protagonist of a mission). The tasks to complete usually involve transporting or retrieving an object located somewhere in the charming town of Springfield. The characteristic humor of the animated series is present in large quantities, making The Simpsons Hit and Run a very fun title to play.

There are a total of 56 driving and on-foot missions to complete, with bonus missions that unlock cool extras such as new vehicles and new outfits for the available characters. Over the course of The Simpsons Hit and Run you'll also see some funny gags like Krusty flipping through an "adult" magazine inside the Kwik-E-Mart. In short, a game that has all the characteristics of successful titles... and it's a Simpsons game! Woo hoo!
