Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon

At its core, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a tale of hard luck. New protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, a member of a rather insignificant yakuza family, had to work hard for his fortune. He atoned for a crime he didn’t commit in order to protect his patriarch and father figure Masumi Arakawa.

After serving 18 years, he discovers that his former clan has been almost completely dismembered. The few remaining members are hunted on the streets - perhaps his old patriarch is responsible. Ichiban feels he has been betrayed. He wants to find out the truth, and so begins the story of Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Rising from the depths
Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level delinquent from a relatively insignificant Tokyo yakuza family, is sentenced to 18 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Firm in his beliefs, he serves his sentence and returns to society, only to discover that no one awaits him at liberty and that his clan has been crushed by his closest confidant. Alone and confused, he sets out on a journey to uncover the truth behind his family's deception, to regain his life, and to become an unexpected hero to the city's outcasts.
