At the center of the YS stories is Adol Christian, a red-haired adventurer, who, together with his companion Dogi, finds himself aboard a pirate ship. His goal is to reach a precious treasure hidden in the lands of the "Great Vortex of Kanan". However, Adol's ship tastes the cannons of the powerful Romun fleet, and ends up sucked into the vortex. Adol will wake up on a small island populated by strange individuals...

The player will then be called upon to guide this timid hero on his journey of exploration.
